Pine Ridge Landfill
Who do I contact about objectionable smells or dust/debris from the landfill?
- Dana Allison, with Waste Management (Pine Ridge Landfill) at 407-312-7392
- Orange County Environmental Protection Division at EPD@ocfl.net or 407-836-1400, option 2
- Report through the 311 Non-emergency Help & Information System. Make sure to note that this is the Pine Ridge Landfill on Rex Drive and the issue needs to be routed to OC Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and NOT to the Orange County Solid Waste Division.
The Pine Ridge Landfill is NOT owned or operated by Orange County. It is a private landfill owned and operated by Waste Management that only accepts Construction & Demolition debris. Regulatory oversight is through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (Orange County office) and NOT through Orange County Solid Waste.
Who do I contact about landfill traffic cutting through the Rural Settlement?
- Dana Allison, with Waste Management (Pine Ridge Landfill) at 407-312-7392
- Report through the 311 Non-emergency Help & Information System. Make sure to note that per County Ordinance and the landfill’s operational permit, all traffic is required to access the landfill via Avalon/McKinney/Rex. Traffic is specifically prohibited from using the residential roads to the North and Northeast of the landfill. In addition, there are posted weight limits on Williams and Davenport that would apply to dump trucks, haul trucks, semi trucks, cement trucks, etc.
When reporting landfill traffic concerns, it is helpful to have a picture of the vehicle and/or a description including the company name on the truck. You should also include the date, time, and specific location where the vehicle was observed.
Who do I contact about trash dumped alongside the road?
- Report through the 311 Non-emergency Help & Information System.
- Orange County will not respond to trash reports alongside non-Orange County maintained roads. Maintenance of these roads, including picking up trash, is the residents’ responsibility.
- Frequent dumping in a specific area should be reported to the Orange Sheriff’s Office via the non-emergency number (407-836-4357).
As a resident of the AHPOA, can I dump at the landfill?
- AHPOA residents may dump one load per month for free. Proof of residency is required. Check in at the scale house upon arrival. If you need to dump more than one load per month, check the rates posted at the scale house or call one of the Waste Management contacts listed above.
- The landfill will accept yard/landscape debris and construction/demolition debris. They do NOT accept household garbage, hazardous waste, tires, appliances, furniture, recyclables, etc. To dispose of these items, visit the Orange County Solid Waste website.
- All loads must be properly secured and tarped.
- Persons entering the landfill must wear sturdy shoes, a hardhat, and a reflective vest.
- All traffic must enter via McKinney Road to Rex Drive to the landfill entrance.
