Background:
Discovery Church has requested a Special Exception to build an approximate 46,000 square foot religious institution facility at the corner of Rex Drive and McKinney Road. This property is approximately 20 acres, is zoned A-1, and is within the Rural Settlement. Discovery Church made a similar request in 2022 that was denied by the Board of County Commissioners. They have now updated their request and resubmitted it.
As a side note, there is also a possible second religious institution that will be submitting a separate Special Exception request to build an approximate 52,000 square foot facility on Avalon Road within the Rural Settlement. Information about this request will be distributed when it becomes available.
