Please bear with us as we develop the content of this page. We will be adding information about the history of the Lake Avalon Community starting with the founding of Lake Avalon Groves in the mid-1920s, through the changes wrought by the decline of the citrus industry in the 1980s, to the designation of the Lake Avalon Rural Settlement in 2004, and finally to the impact on this small West Orange County community as development booms all around it.

“Turning Sunshine Into Gold” is a booklet developed by the Orlando Orange Grove Company in the mid-1920s to market their Lake Avalon Groves project.

The University of Florida has archived this book as an important part of Florida citrus industry history. Click here to view it: https://ufdc.ufl.edu/UF00004169/00001/flipbook/images
